Polly
This is Polly the female Piping Plover. Piping Plovers are considered an endangered species. The federal government protects them through the DEC.
Polly was part of a research project of Dr. Cheri Gratto-Trevor in January 2010 in the Grand Island Bahamas. Polly was banded and migrated to Long Island New York. That is over 1,000 + miles for such a tiny shorebird.
