Our future depends on you
An adult male Piping Plover faces the fenced off area placed by the Department of Conservation for their protection against human activity as well as predators (loose dogs, foxes, etc.). The way he was looking out into the distance made me think of the caption.
Piping Plover's livelihood depends on our behaviors during breeding season, since humans are the highest threat to them.
Soon enough March will approach us and the Piping Plovers will begin to arrive at the eastern shores of Maryland, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York.
Be involved and become a strong advocate for the preservation of the endangered species and dwindling habitat. While you're out there, educate the public on the plight of survival of our Piping Plovers. They count on you and YOU can make a difference.
